Hey Tribe! I’m excited to be taking the reigns from Derek and MegChanEt with the programming heading into the 2017 Open- we got some fun times ahead! Here is the general idea behind the next 4 weeks:
- 2-3 times per week we will see nasty little couplets and triplets with movements that we are likely to see in the Open: burpees, thrusters, chest to bar pull ups, cleans, snatches, toes to bar, overhead squats, and more! The goal is to give you all a chance to work on the movements BEFORE we see them in the Open; so if you see a workout that includes a least-favorite movement, be sure to come get some work in!
- 1-2 times per week, we will have some strength work paired with some type of gymnastic movement. Shades of EDT of you are familiar; we’ll have a 20-40 minute clock going to keep you on task. Pause squats are the flavor of the month! these days will be paired with a coach led yoga flow to end the day, no leaving early!
- Some weeks we will will have a choose-your-own-adventure pure cardio day (like the first week of the program)- you can choose to either work on your top-end speed (sprints) or basic aerobic capacity (long intervals).
- Heart and Barbell starts off with a week of video sessions- come in, lets get you on camera and dissect your movement! From there we will play with some fun assistance movements individually tailored to your needs.
