Yep, we just graduated several hard working new CrossFitter’s from our Beginners Bootcamp. If ya see these guys in the gym, introduce yourself and show them the way… teach them the hula hoop shake weight while you’re at it.
In the top pic we have the Perry Clan: Stacey, Harrison, and Taylor. Next to them are Katie, Dane, and Gavin (asleep).
In the bottom photo we have Savahna and Tina Marie. Not pictured: Chelsey, Chrystie, Rami, and Sherri. See you guys on Monday!
And remember, out new bootcamp starts Monday the 11th at 6 am or 7 pm! Slots are still available, so tell your friends to call us for a spot!
Pictured above: our recently graduated Boot Camp, ready to kick ass and chew bubble gum. To bad we are all out of gum...
Once again, a great group of people have made it through the Boot Camp and on to the group classes. Some strong performances this time around, Derek and I have high expectations for these athletes. Some great successes, too: Nancy informed me that she lost 15 pounds over the course of the four week camp! Diet and exercise, folks. No secret there…
The next group of boot campers will be rolling in Monday, September 13th. As of now, the 7pm class is SOLD OUT, and the 6am class has a few spots left. We are looking forward to another excellent camp!
Starting in a little over a week, CrossFit Coeur d’Alene will be partnering with Peak Health and Wellness to bring CrossFit to the Hayden location! We will be offering a modified version of our Boot Camp, 3 nights a week. The class will focus more on basic bodyweight movements, and be accessible to both Peak members as well as non-members interested in learning more about functional movements for a cost of $150/month.
Last, check out this blast from the past:
Initial Initiates
That’s right! Our first Boot Camp, EVER. This pic was taken over a year ago at our old 3rd street location. Looking at this shot, two things come immediately to mind:
1. Nearly everyone in that pic is still an active, 3-5 day-a-week athlete. It is a much a testament to the dedication of the above athletes as it is an indication of the atmosphere we are so lucky to have here at CrossFit Coeur d’Alene: a place that makes working out what it should be- motivating, challenging, and above all, fun.
2. Seeing where they were, and where they are now, just one year later- wow. Trent has dropped over 70 pounds, and is quickly becoming the resident firebreather (120 unbroken wallballs, anyone?) Clark, Donna, and Emily are still a joy to have at the box, with increased range of motion and better coordination, they are moving forward everyday. Katie has gone from not having any pull ups, to absolutely crushing WoDs with 30+ pull ups prescribed. Derek has become one of the strongest bodyweight athletes at the gym, able to string together 20 dead-hang pull ups! Brittany has slimmed down even further, and Ryan is off to college!
Contrast that with the recent boot camp pics on this blog- is YOUR face in one of them? Where will you be a year later?
Edit, 9/17: Missing in the above pic, Steiner and DVG! Massive gains from those two as well. Stein is not to be trifled with with air squats, he is pushing 70 a minute- and Darcy has gone from not being able to do (1) push up to 30+ unbroken thrusters… …and push ups are not really an issue anymore.
Last week we graduated another GREAT group of new crossfitters! We had some huge time drops from day 1 to day 12, tune the tune of over 5 minutes from some folks! Derek and I would like to say thanks and congrats to the whole camp- we had a great time.
Make sure to introduce yourselves if you see them around!
Boot 13 is a wrap! Another solid group of athletes, heading to the WoD group with some brand-new skills. After four weeks of technique, nutritional education (indoctrination?) and mini-WoD’s, everyone is READY! Can’t wait to see everyone in class!
Boot Camp Nine: in the bag! Two great classes of new Crossfitters! We saw some huge changes over the course of the four weeks: lifestyle, flexibility, and everyone got another stab at their first WOD, slashing their times! I don’t think we have ever had so many people cut so much time as a group. As coaches, seeing that kind of success really makes us happy to do what we do. Thanks for a great camp guys, we will see you in class next week!
I have some pics below, though there are some people that missed the shot, due to spring break travels.
We just graduated our 7th and largest Bootcamp Class on Friday. 16 motivated people showed up a month ago and were put through the ringer 3 times a week. All of of them made the cut, so expect a large influx of hard chargers next week. Remember to introduce yourselves!
PM Class: Summer, Meagan, Jacob, Jon, Mac, Toni, Austin, Jason, Mike, Derek. Not pictured: Chris, Tawnya, Clark, Will (where’d ya go?!)
AM Class: Cheri, Rebbecca, Vonni, Marty, Jon, Chelly, Derek.
Hopefully everybody is having a great Christmas! We had a fun filled day at the box, graduating Boot camp Class 6, followed by the gym Christmas Party! Check out the newest batch of hard chargers below (when you see them next week, introduce yourself):
The Christmas Party was a blast! Good food, good beer, and good company… all while trying not to get pelted by rubber balls! We had a kids league, all female league, and even a few games with left hand only (check out the video!) Here are a handful of pics from the festivities:
We are almost half way through our first Boot Camp, and things are going great! The Boot Campers are learning new things every day, the intensity is slowly being ratcheted up, and we are becoming more aware about what we’re fueling our bodies with.
FYI, the next Boot Camp is tentatively scheduled to start in the middle of August. Tell your friends! If they sign up for Boot Camp, that’s a free month of training for you!
