A friendly announcement: class starts on the hour in the am, and on the half hour in the pm!
That being said, we’ve all been running late at some point, and the coaches at CFCDA would rather have you show up a little late and get your fitness in than miss a training day altogether.
We believe the first 15 minutes of class is the most important. There are several reasons for a good warm-up, the most important being injury prevention. Warm muscles, connective tissue, and joints are more elastic and lubricated and less likely to strain or tear.
This injury prevention benefit only happens with a proper warm-up. In other words, rolling in 5 minutes late, speeding through your symmetry bands and hopping into the group warm-up when it’s half over ain’t gonna cut it!
We’ve come up with a warm-up that is effective and easy to do on your own. If you’re late, it isn’t an option… it’s our job as your coaches to make sure you’re healthy, safe, and ready for the class. Remember, this isn’t a punishment for being late- it’s designed to keep you from tearing a rotator cuff or herniating a disc. Please take it seriously and don’t rush through.
The “I missed the warm-up” warm-up.
Crossover Symmetry Bands (don’t rush these, 2 sec. hold on every movement!)
15 Air Squats
Please complete the entire warm-up before you jump into class!
